Archibald John Motley, Jr. (United States)

Motley was born in New Orleans and spent the majority of his life in Chicago, participating in the Chicago Black Renaissance. In the late 1930’s, Motley began frequenting the center of African American life in Chicago, the Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side, known as the Black Belt.
